March Events List 1st – 15th

FREE WILLS MONTH  For anyone over 55 years old looking to have a will written or updated. A donation is hoped for on completion, but you are under no obligation.  If you are under 55, during Novembers Will Aid Month, solicitors write a basic will in exchange for a charitable donation.

1st St. David’s Day A celebration of St Davids life, the patron saint of Wales. March 1st is his feast day when the catholic church will offer a special mention, prayers or scripture reading.     Dydd Gwyl Dewi Hapus

7th Francis Baily STEM Fair (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics)  Activities are suitable for children age 4 – 11 years. A BBQ and refreshments  will be available.  £6 per child accompanying adults free. All proceeds will be used to purchase STEM equipment for each year group. Tickets via Ticketsource.

7th Inkpen Crocus field Walk FREE BBOWT short walk to take in the largest wild display of crocuses in the country. Meet at the nearby car park in Post Office Road, RG17 9PT. The reserve can be quite muddy in places. No booking required. Guide Dogs only. No wheelchair access. 10.30am – 11.30am

7th Mortimer Fire Station (Fire station of the year 2019) are holding a Have a Go Event at 10am if you are interested in becoming a firefighter. West End Road, RG7 3TE

11th Anger Management Workshop. Suitable for parents and carers of children and young people with autism spectrum conditions or children who are on the waiting list for a Berkshire CAMHS autism assessment. 11th Berkshire Family History Society are offering a talk by Dr. Nick Young on how Newbury used to be with photos dating back to the second half of the 1800’s. Shaw Church Hall  RG14 2DR 7.30pm Non members are invited to donate £3 towards costs.

Whilst on the subject of photos, cute cat photographs are needed for a charity calendar compiled by David and Marion Canning. Deadline is the 16th March. Entry costs £1. Photos be printed for judging by the public at a spring fair at the Ambrose Allen Centre, Tadley RG26 4EU on March 21st. 15th Repair Cafe volunteers will be popping up at the Cow and Cask to help save items from landfill.
